MSP Dance Agency

At one day she was asked to dance in a German dance club. She was curious so she said: 'yes'. After that experience.. she knew it. She wanted to become a ''professional gogodancer''. In most of the clubs and cities in Holland she's performed and even internationally. For instance Turkey, Egypt, Spain, Belgium and Greece. As an experienced dancer Melissa felt the need to start her own agency. In 2007 she founded Dance-agency MSP. To take her business to a new level, 2009 is the year to launch her OWN professional website.

Melissa-Sophia Poels was born on April 21 in 1988.

As a 6 years old girl, she started taking ballet lessons. After her first dancing experience her supportive mother decided to take it to the next level. Melissa started acquiring street dance experience with her girlfriends as she turned 10. Her teacher saw she liked it very much, giving everything, every lesson. After 2 years of experience, her teacher told Melissa to follow some ballet lessons for her basics in order to do audition at the famous dance academy Lucia Marthas.

So she signed up as fast as she could and later she had THE invitation. After finishing the audition she had no clue wether she would be invited or not. It was one day full of stress and a lot of people were already sent home after the first round. Or after the second or thirth. And she made it? Nooo that was impossible?! But it was possible! After a whole month of waiting she finally received an invitation for one of Lucia Marthas' highest classes.

Melissa fulfilled 2 years at the academy. On Friday she had a agreement with the principal of her regular highschool to leave earlier. Straight out of school her mother brought Melissa to the dance academy by car. Not only Fridays but also Saturdays were long days. 5 days of school next to the extra lessons in ballet and streetdance was a bit too much. Because it was too heavy and too expensive Melissa had to quit.

Melissa was a little disappointed in herself but after a few weeks she found a new challenge. Dancing and touring with a demo-team. New people, new style, some kind of hip hop.
